Understanding the set-backs and challenges faced by hotels in the COVID-19 era, CM Communications has introduced Hotel Performance Boost, a suite of services that combines the financial and operational acumen of hotel veteran Gary Avigne, currently on pause from his responsibilities with Waterford Hotel Group, with the strategic marketing savvy of agency principal Lori Moretti. Together, we offer decades of credibility, a wide range of expertise and success stories to help hotels move forward through challenging times.  We understand the unprecedented financial constraints currently experienced by hotel owners and operators. Therefore, we’re offering our consulting services at realistic, cost-effective rates.  Services include:

  • Annual Business Plan Review
  • Monthly financial review, to include a review of all primary operating metrics, to include labor, market segments, sources of business, costs per occupied room relative to industry standards, etc.
  • Budget Development
  • Loan term review and support through any financing recalibration;
  • If applicable, review and discussion of franchise terms and costs in this new business environment
  • Review of operational protocols (i.e.) food and beverage, housekeeping, HR compliance.

Gary Avigne

Hotel Financial Consultant

A hotel industry veteran with over 30 years of success to his credit, Gary Avigne has served in various capacities as both an independent management consultant and in senior level corporate positions within the hospitality industry. He began his career in 1975 at Omni (Dunfey) Hotels as Corporate Director of Management Services. By 1990, he had founded Coventry Hotel Associates, providing portfolio management, asset management, and development counsel to hotel management companies, independent hotels and world-class brands such as Marriott International, Sundance Resort, and The Woodstock Inn, among others. In addition, Coventry was the US operating partner for Greenall Whitley PLC, a UK company, now Devere Hotels, that owned six hotels in the US.  Over the span of his impressive career, Gary has served as Co-Director at Pinnacle Advisory Group, working with third party equity firms, ownership entities, receivers and lenders; as founding partner of Finard Coventry Hotel Management, overseeing acquisition and development of Harbor Hotel Provincetown and Providence Biltmore; and most recently served as Vice President, Acquisitions and Development of Waterford Hotel Group where he identified and negotiated the successful acquisition of 20 hotels in a six year period. Currently, taking a leave of absence from Waterford, Gary is collaborating with Lori Moretti of CM Communications, to offer a suite of financial consulting and marketing services designed to expedite the recovery of hotels gravely impacted by the global pandemic and economic crisis.
