The Nantucket Chamber of Commerce retained CM to develop and launch a national public relations campaign to enhance the island's reputation as a world-class resort and increase tourism during shoulder seasons. By securing PR stories in national travel publications to build brand image, and promote large-scale special events, such as the Daffodil Festival and the Christmas Stroll (which we transformed from a weekend into a month-long calendar of events), we significantly increased off-season visits. Tangible results of this 3-year public relations blitz: the Chamber had to install new phone lines, was able to cut back substantially on paid advertising, and inns on the island continue to be booked through December.
