San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels chose CM Communications to launch the Kimpton brand in the Northeast with PR initiatives for Hotel Marlowe in Cambridge and the opening of the Onyx Hotel in Boston. Charged with developing hotel packages and programs to ignite media interest, the agency created a signature pet-friendly campaign that was rolled out by Kimpton hotels nationwide. Recognizing the power of strategic alliances, CM Communications created a “Bark and Bath” event in conjunction with Laundromutt, Polka Dog Bakery, the Warner Brothers movie, “Must Love Dogs,” and a charity partner, The Trust for Public Land. The result — hundreds of pet owners show up annually at Kimpton hotels around the country for this fun event that consistently garners significant earned media coverage.
